Nancy (she/her) was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma in September 2024 and was successfully treated with six cycles of high-dose chemotherapy.  While ill and during treatment, she had chest infections and an immune response that damaged her lungs and as a consequence she is now disabled. Nancy’s career has been spent advocating for human rights and social justice, in areas that range from refugee protection and poverty eradication to LGBTQIA+ rights.  She has been CEO of Stonewall, Executive Director of DIVA and is currently part of the team at Trans+ Solidarity Alliance as well as a Trustee of the Bishopsgate Institute.  She has written widely on human rights and social justice issues and is currently writing a book chapter on LGBTQIA+ women, non-binary people and cancer, building on her DIVA article. You can find her enjoying the sea air with her family and dogs in Brighton, or online.
